Thankyou for your interest in my photos. Recently I have been inundated with photo usage requests and I simply do not have time to respond to them all. There is a high demand for copies of photos free of charge these days which doesn't help my cause in bringing these photos to your computer screens. I drive and fly thousands of kilometers accross the country to bring you these photos at a great personal expense so in order for me to continue this I need to outline some photo usage licenses and conditions below.
1. Personal License
Personal use grants buyer a non-exclusive perpetual license which means you will only use the photo for personal reasons as a digital copy or have it printed and mounted on a wall at home or your office. You cannot distribute it anywhere in the digital world and you can’t use if for commercial purposes unless you also have the commercial rights. I charge $25.00 AUD for each high resolution, no watermark, digital copy emailed directly to you.
2. Editorial License
Editorial rights grants buyer a non-exclusive perpetual license for images that are used for educational purposes. Editorial licensed images can be used for blogs, newspapers, magazines, print publications, and other educational resources. These are all considered non-commercial uses.
However, editorial rights cannot be used commercially at all. Even advertorials (articles that promote a specific brand or product) cannot use these images, as these are considered commercial uses.
For each Editorial License photos I charge $50.00 AUD for a high resolution, no watermak, digital copy emailed directly to you. You must also credit the photo to myself (Simon Coates) beneath your photo in the blog, website or publication etc.
3. Commercial License
In order to make money with an image, you’ll need commercial rights to the image. Commercial rights grants buyers a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide license for any uses that could result in monetary gain for your brand, including marketing, paid ads, website use, and other promotions. Photos are granted for commercial use on a case by case basis and charged according to the intended use of the photo. Please contact me with details about exactly what you would like to use the photo for and where it would be displayed and I will respond to you with a quote.
Other points to consider
All licenses also prohibit the editing, cropping, using filters, changing colours or any other type of digital manipulation without my permission. Re-sizing images is tolerated to fit your website or publication.
Buyer may not resell, relicense, redistribute without express written permission from Content Provider.
The original photographer retains all rights, license, copyright, title and ownership of the Media.
